about the artist

I am an artist, writer, daughter, mother, wife, and lover of life! I live on the California Coast with my husband and our son. 

Why 8th Moon Art? The 8th phase of the moon is the Crescent moon. And yes, Crescent is my given name! The 8th moon is also the phase of the moon under which my son was born.

I've spent the majority of my adult life partaking in the arts. I acted on stage in college, I am a published author, I owned a hair salon, and I even tried my hand (pun intended) at playing guitar.

 
As busy as life gets, I always make time for art. It fulfills a basic need in me that I can't get from anything else. I create my art in my studio overlooking the Pacific Ocean which soothes my soul. Many of my themes are inspired by the water and everything it has to offer. My favorite techniques are palette knife painting and fluid art.
